The society started in 1835 and carried on for many years afterwards.
On 5th August 1835, to mark the inauguration, a procession started at the Feathers Inn heading to Pocklington Fair, and was accompanied by the Pocklington Band playing "Hurrah for the Bonnets of Blue". To hear this song click this link. |
