Pocklington Horse and Foal Show
Although a horse fair was held in Pocklington from early times, an official show was started in Victorian times. The Pocklington Horse and Foal Show started in 1858 and carried on to at least 1929 when Henry Powell was still secretary of the society. It was a prominent annual event in the East Riding. Mr. Wm. Brown remembered 'Feathers Field' where the Horse Show was held, being where the Rugby field is today.
